Parts & service

The reason to buy it here

A Ferris® is the same machine wherever you buy it. What is not the same is who answers the phone in July, whether the blade you need is on a shelf you could walk to, and how long the machine sits before somebody looks at it.

One building

The parts counter, the service bay and the technician who knows the model are in the same building as the salesperson who sold it.

In season, on the phone

Commercial crews get priority scheduling in the cutting months. Everyone gets somebody who picks up.

Stocked for what we sell

Blades, filters and belts for current Ferris models are on the shelf, not ordered from scratch when you need them.

Set up before it leaves

Decks leveled, machine assembled and checked, delivered ready to cut rather than ready to unbox.

Book service

Tell us the machine and the week

Two ways in: call the store that will do the work, or leave the details and the service desk calls you back.

In-season crews
Priority scheduling through the cutting months, arranged with your salesperson so the machine is off the trailer for as little time as possible.
Pickup and delivery
Available from every store that sells Ferris. Ask when you book — it is often cheaper than the hours you would lose.
Winter work
The right time for anything that is not urgent. Blades, belts, bearings and deck work, booked before the season starts.
Warranty claims
Handled by the store, not by you. If it is covered we deal with the paperwork.

What we would tell a crew

Book winter work in November

Everything that can be done in the off-season costs you nothing in lost hours. Everything left until April competes with every other crew in the county for the same service slot.

  • Blades, belts and bearings before the first cut
  • Deck leveled and checked while it is quiet
  • A machine that starts the season instead of interrupting it

The parts counter

What is on the shelf

Wear items for the Ferris models we sell are stocked. Anything deeper is ordered against our own stock rather than from nothing.

Every season

Blades, belts, filters

The items that decide how a machine cuts, kept in stock for current models. Bring the model and serial and we will match them exactly.

Wear

Spindles, pulleys, castors

The parts a commercial machine works through on a route. Common items stocked; the rest ordered on our account, not yours.

Fluids

Oil, hydraulic fluid, grease

The specification the engine and transaxles actually call for, rather than the closest thing on a shelf somewhere else.

Bring the model and serial number, or a photo of the plate. It is the difference between one trip and two.

Questions the counter gets

Before you call

How quickly can you look at it in season?
Commercial crews are scheduled first, and we will tell you honestly on the phone what the wait is rather than book you in and let you find out.
Do you service machines bought elsewhere?
Yes. Customers who bought here get scheduling priority, but we will not turn away a Ferris because of where it was sold.
Can I collect parts without an appointment?
Yes — the counter is open through store hours. Call ahead with the model and serial if you want it on the counter when you arrive.
What maintenance can I do myself?
Blades, filters, greasing and deck cleaning are well within reach, and we will show you on your own machine at handover. Suspension and transaxle work is ours.
What does a service schedule look like for a route?
It depends on hours rather than months. Tell us the hours you put on in a season and we will build the interval around it.
