The deck, and why it is shaped like that

Ferris's iCD+ cutting system is built around airflow — lift the grass, cut it once, move it out cleanly.

Deck depth, blade profile and discharge geometry work as one system. The aim is to stand the grass up before the blade reaches it, cut it a single time, and clear the clippings without recutting them into dust.

Our season swings from a wet spring where everything clumps to an August where the turf is dry and thin. A deck that only performs in ideal conditions performs about eight weeks a year here.

The same deck takes a mulch kit or a collection system. Which one you want depends on the property, not the machine — we will talk it through before you order.
